About Our Speakers

Jodee Brydges, Author-Speaker-Coach
Jodee Brydges is a producing loan originator in California driven by a passion for helping individuals improve their financial well-being and build secure financial futures.

With over three decades of experience in the financial industry, Jodee has served in many roles from originator to executive management and from owner to speaker. She has built her production business by coaching and educating clients and peers alike.

Years of coaching and presenting inspired Jodee to author and publish, “Digging Out, A Practical Guide to Getting Out of Debt & Paving the Path to a Secure Financial Future”. Her goal is to share her knowledge and help educate individuals of all ages, income levels and backgrounds gain the basic financial literacy needed to improve their financial health.

Jodee is also the co-creator of “Just Think” a not-for-profit program designed to empower generations of women.

Jodee believes that balance is the key to a successful life and that all work and no play, is no fun at all.

Justin Caplan, Atlantic Bay Mortgage Group
With 29 years of experience in the mortgage industry, the Atlantic Bay Mortgage President of Strategic Growth, Justin Caplan, has learned how to navigate the ever-changing lending landscape. As a first-generation American from London, England, Justin brings his passion for home ownership and the mortgage industry to everyone he meets.

Before joining his current company, Justin spent 21 years working for a large national lender. His experience ranges from high producing loan officer, to branch Manager, and to his current role spearheading growth for Atlantic Bay.

In addition to helping mortgage industry professionals, Justin is also passionate about helping the global community. In 2008, he founded a nonprofit organization, Friends for African Development, that provides basic necessities such as water, small business funding, education, and spiritual needs to the poor in Tanzania, Africa.

Justin’s greatest accomplishment is his family. He has four daughters and an amazing wife who keeps him on his toes.

Allison Davis, George Mason Mortgage
As a multi-sport competitive athlete in high school, Allison Davis understood the value of team work, dedication and determination. Now, with over 16 years of experience in the Financial Services industry including time in retail banking and home mortgage lending, Allison’s putting those same values to work for her clients and partners. Allison’s commitment to value added service, tireless drive and a team approach to her client’s financing needs have enabled her to become ranked in the top 1% of Mortgage Loan Originators nationwide garnering awards for top production from Scotsman’s Guide, George Mason Mortgage and the Virginia Housing and Development Authority (VHDA). Her ability to make her clients feel at ease and her unboxed solutions has earned her a stellar reputation among her clients. In 2019, Allison and her team helped 400 families achieve their home ownership dreams. She attributes her success and growth to her strategic alliances with real estate partners and builders who value her commitment to service. Allison lives just outside of Ashland, VA with her husband, two kids and animals. When she is not busy helping her clients, she loves spending time with family on the Rappahannock River, working out at the gym and supporting her local community.

Barry Habib, MBS Highway
Barry Habib is an American entrepreneur and frequent media resource for his mortgage and housing expertise. He is an Amazon #1 bestselling author for his book "Money in the Streets" and appears frequently on CNBC and FOX. Barry is the CEO of MBS Highway - the industry's most highly regarded and recognized tool for transforming salespeople into advisors.

Steve Rockefeller, George Mason Mortgage
Steve Rockefeller SVP Business Development Manager (what a great title, I’m a loan guy just like you) In 1991 Steve heard Zig Ziglar speak at the newly opened Regent University. Something that has driven his career was one of Zigs quotes. “You can have everything you want in life it you will just help other people get what they want”. A quote he has passed along to his friends, family and co-workers. In Steve’s 29 year Mortgage Banking career he has served as President of the Virginia Mortgage Bankers Association as well as the Tidewater Mortgage Bankers Association. Steve has worked at only 3 companies and helped over 9000 families with their mortgage financing. His 15 year column, Mortgage Matters, was a true favorite with Virginian-Pilot readers. Steve authored the book Steve Rockefeller’s Home Buyers Guide which has exceeded 5000 copies given away along with another 1000 free digital copies. It’s all part of giving back.

Steve is always looking for better more efficient ways to offer clients and partners a more responsive, full-service menu of mortgage services. Steve has encouraged the industry along with constant communication with his peers, annual dinners with groups of mortgage industry leaders, along with Zoom and Web calls to continue the sharing of information.

Steve has been ranked several years by the Scotsman Guide as one of the Top 1% of Originators nationwide along with a host of many other awards. Steve lives in Virginia Beach, leads a healthy lifestyle. Steve has 3 kids, Nick (35), Avery (23), and Evan (20), along with his girl Roxy, his 1 year old German shepherd.

Krystal Thomas, Mortgage Bankers Association
Krystal Thomas is the Sr. Specialist for Industry Relations & Member Engagement in MBA’s Residential Policy and Member Engagement department. In her role, Krystal manages MBA’s State Relation Initiative (SRI) which seeks to align the interest of the national MBA and state associations around the country in three critical areas: advocacy, industry communications and business development.

With a background in conflict resolution and community engagement, Krystal is dedicated to promoting the need for diversity and inclusion in the workplace. She co-leads mPact, MBA’s network of more than 2400 young professionals within the real estate finance industry. In addition, she was instrumental in launching EMBRACE, MBA’s internal diversity and inclusion program. She also coordinates a host of external MBA events focused on Diversity and Inclusion Initiative within the real estate finance industry.

In her spare time, Krystal is on the leadership team of Just Homes, a locally based initiative which focuses on addressing housing affordability and access within Washington DC.

A native of Charlestown, WV, Krystal is a graduate of George Mason University. She also owns graduate degrees from George Mason and the University of Malta. Krystal is a certified Associate Diversity Coach (ADC) and Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP).
